We have a little gay magazine here called “In” – as in “inclusive,” I presume.
It sure pretends to be.
Have a look at their cover picture. See if you can spot the realistic representative of our community…
Actually, there are two trans people in this photo; there’s also an FTM transsexual.

I read things once, and then again… not sure I understand it even now…
In Thailand, where 21 year-olds must report for military conscription, being a crossdresser gets you out of duty. Permanently.
It also gets you a certificate that you must present to every employer, stating that you have a “permanent psychological abnormality.”
Interestingly, those who have had breast implants or SRS are not immediately exempt, and must report for 3 years before gaining their exemption.
My inference: if you’re wearing women’s clothes but not transitioning, you’re a state-certified nut.

Bathroom use for tgirls seems to be all the rage as a hot-button issue for the acceptance of trans people – a ridiculous shame of digression and distraction.
In any event, I had a bit of a challenging experience yesterday. I usually just go in, quietly proceed to an open stall, do my business and get out without making an issue of the whole thing.
But, the restaurant where I was last night had a women’s washroom that had a beautiful waiting area complete with vinyl sofa and it was meant to be used; there were only 2 little cabinets off in the corner. The restaurant is rather large, so it should come as little surprise that there was a line – and there would always be a line…

I’m not one to kiss and tell, right?
Yesterday, I posted an account of an evening I spent with a guy, and I included a couple of pics, including one of us kissing.
I knew something was bothering me about the post before I put it up, but now I think I know what it was… I think I subconsciously realized that I was worried that my post was tantamount to showing off my date to everyone… kissing and telling, as it were.

Ok, I’ve gone stark raving mad over shoes these last weeks.
Usually, I buy a bunch stateside and satisfy my hunger for a time, but this year, I never got my chance to buy any there.
When I returned, I realized that I had a gaping hole in my shoe collection – nothing white, and one solitary bone-colored pump that I had worn to death.

Scientists seem to have found differences in what they call “white matter” patterns between men and women, and in a soon-to-be-published study, have shown that transsexuals patterns don’t match their physical gender.
The point of the study seems to be to find the proper candidates for delaying the onset of puberty until the patient can better cope with a sex change operation.
For more details, you can find the complete story at http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn20032-transsexual-differences-caught-on-brain-scan.html?DCMP=OTC-rss&nsref=online-news

(…continued from “A Good Man is Hard to Find”…)
In a recent post, I talked about how hard it was to find a good man in pursuit of testing my boundaries as a woman.
More and more, I am starting to feel that, rather than wanting to know how it might feel to be picked up in a bar, I’d much rather find a mate in a different context.
The sad truth is that I am very much starting to think in terms of romance – not love, mind you, but romance.

For women, finding the right man can be a hard thing to do in the best of circumstances. But, for me, the difficulty is off the charts.
Just being trans whittles down the pool by more than 90%, I figure. But that’s just the beginning.

(This is the first of what I hope will be more than a few guest posts written by my GF, Emily.)
I have come a long way since I first encountered Janie some four years ago. Of course, Janie has come a long way too.
Although Janie was never hidden from me, and I learned about her at the same time as Janie did herself, I still went through many of the usual trials and tribulations most women go through on learning that her spouse is a crossdresser. Flash forward to the present and I don’t really even think of Janie as a crossdresser now, but rather I think of her as a unique person with many interesting sides, and someone I‘m lucky to share my life with. The best of all worlds in many respects. We have always been the best of friends in addition to lovers, but now I have not only a spouse, a lover, and a boyfriend, but a girlfriend too!

I was reading the About Me page of my blog, and it seems my perceptions of myself have changed somewhat.
In particular, certain statements now ring false to me (and they have been removed).
