On our drive to San Diego last month, we stopped off to visit a friend at his home.
We know him as a nice, funny and handsome guy who has a passion for life and plenty of laughter.
He was a consummate host, taking us for a lovely walk along the beach, showing us around his home, and going out for dinner with us to a terrific restaurant.

The latest brouhaha on tap is over U.S. bookstore Barnes and Noble’s decision to treat as pornographic the cover photo of a topless man because he is effeminate and has curlers in his hair.
I understand the corporation’s desire to avoid problems, but bookstores, specifically, do have a certain obligation to support the freedoms of speech and expression. To their (small) credit, they didn’t refuse to stock it, they just masked the cover.

Today was travel day, and I decided to wear a flirty, flouncy sundress and high-heeled sandals. I wanted to feel as feminine as possible before I return to the drudgery of life tomorrow.
Kudos once again to the security people for not even flinching as they perused my passport.

Ahhh, the Dating Game…
Out last night at a bar, I found myself dancing alone on the dancefloor when a guy came up and asked if he could dance with me. Not really interested but happy to have some attention, I agreed.
We danced for a song or two, and then he started dancing ever closer to me. At first I tried to restore the distance between us, but eventually gave up on repeatedly backing away.
However, certain business had to be taken care of. I don’t do surprises, and I’m pretty sure that dancing any closer would have given him information he might not have been happy to receive in that way, if you know what I mean…
