Enough already! Now we’re harassing teenage girls courtside?

Sophie Cunningham is against trans girls/women competing with cis girls/women. She has her reasons, and from what I have heard, none of them include hatred or bigotry towards transgender people.

She is entitled to her opinion.

The fact that she is being attacked for expressing it looks bad on all of us.

Leave her be.

She has explicitly stated that hers is a message of love, and I believe her. Nothing that she has said or done is inconsistent with this, even if people like Fox News and its acolytes want to make it seem that way. Sometimes, a person can have two sets of prioties that come into conflict with one another and she has to choose. It’s part of being an adult.

Respectful dialogue is one thing. But what I have seen from the trans community and its supporters is embarrassing. I wish it would stop. Save your vitriol for people who are truly hateful – or better yet, take Sophie’s lead and express your views in terms of love.
