There have been several drive-by paintball shootings aimed at pedestrians in the gay neighborhoods of San Diego. One of these targeted several men standing outside the San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center. The incidents are being investigated as hate crimes following reports that something was yelled by the perpetrators about the presumed sexual orientation of the targets.

Item from the local paper:
“The student council at King City Public School thought a great way to celebrate “school spirit” day would be for the boys to dress like girls and the girls to dress like boys. But what began as an offbeat suggestion for a fun day quickly became fodder for an intense debate over family values, the psychological implications of cross-dressing and whether gender identity politics were being forced on young minds.”
Once this event came to the attention of a certain Reverend, who is described as “a staunch social conservative who has expressed concerns in the past about a “homosexual agenda” in the school system” it became a whole brouhaha over gender politics in the schools, and was quickly withdrawn, despite the principal’s insistence that it was the students’ idea.

Ever since I returned home from a recent driving trip, I have been out of sorts. I have fallen into one of those periods of malaise that affects many crossdressers, I’m sure, where I am just not sure whether the whole thing isn’t just a waste of time.
Self-Doubt
Despite the many strides I have made, there seems to be lingering doubts as to whether I am simply being self-destructive, or maybe even undertaking some elaborate form of procrastination.
I mean, I put a lot of time and effort into all things Janie.
Then, sometimes I find myself face to face with the mirror, thinking, “You’re just such a weirdo. Wouldn’t your time be better spent on something more constructive? What good can come of this? Stop trying to be something you’re not!”
