Voyages in the Pink

How fast a year goes by, but here we are again in January, and it is time for the 2nd annual “In the Pink Award.”

The inaugural award was an occasion of unabashedly debatable distinction, chronicled by media outlets far and wide… ahem… beginning and ending here, on my blog.

Quip as I might, it is entirely self-deprecating, with not a smidgeon of deprecation left over for the honoree.  My admiration and respect for the winner (and now winners) is utterly genuine and heartfelt.

Two and a Half Men (and a Tranny or Two)

What is it with Charlie Sheen’s popular sitcom and trannies?

Seems like every show, there’s a reference to us t-girls; sometimes entire episodes revolve around us.

For those who don’t know, Charlie Sheen plays Charlie Harper – a hard-drinking womanizer (basically himself) – who lives with his uptight brother Allan and nephew Jake at his Malibu beach-house.  The whole thing has an Odd Couple-esque ring to it.  The supporting cast includes his mother Evelyn, his maid Berta, his stalker Rose, his shrink, and an endless bevy of beautiful floozies.

The Evidence

It started with the very first scene in the very first episode.  Charlie’ girlfriend holds up a sexy negligee and ask him what he thinks.  His response: “It’s for you, right?”

The re-run I watched yesterday had one of Charlie’s old girlfriends returning after a FTM sex-change, seeking his friendship and instead finding sex and passion with Charlie’s mother.

Guesting – T-Central

Yesterday was a milestone of sorts for me in that my first ever guest post appeared, on T-Central.

As I mentioned there, T-Central is a wonderful effort put forth by Calie and her team, bringing together so many wonderful blogs and bloggers in one place.  It’s a great place to find many different points of view and experiences.

That said, I was surprised to see that the comments on this special “Crossdresser Experience” series of guest posts evidenced resistance by some transsexual posters to any assertions of genuine femininity by crossdressers – something I found disappointing, and frankly beyond comprehension (not so much the logic but the motivation).

A Little Too Nonchalant

As  I recounted a few weeks ago in the post Batting My Eyelashes, I was pulled over by police while driving, and though I fully knew I would have to give the officer my real driver’s license, I wasn’t the slightest bit trepidatious.

I began to think about this a bit.

Miss-taken – Surprise!

This year, Boxing Day Night was a Sunday, and Monday being a holiday, the turnout was sure to be good, so I made a point of getting out there.

I found myself sitting at the bar talking to a woman when another young lady approached me.

“Hi, I’m with two friends who would like to meet you,” she said, leaning over and pointing to two guys about 10 feet away.  “Are you interested?”

Batting My Eyelashes – A Moving Violation

Got busted today for a moving violation while driving…

I was surprisingly calm about the prospect of introducing myself to the officer as a guy while dressed as Janie.

After a brief discussion, he took my documentation and went back to his cruiser.  He returned a few minutes later, letting me off with a lesser charge.

Transsexual or Crossdresser or What

A recent post at T-Central by Alice, of Alice in Genderland fame and an exchange of comments with other bloggers there led me to start thinking again about the makeup of the trans community and my place in it.0595315623.qxd

My first step was to drop in on Alice’s website and gather more info.  There she answers the question posed in the title to this post, basically, “What’s the difference between a transsexual and a crossdresser?”

If I may bottom-line her multi-paragraph answer, it is: “Not much.”

Her point of view tends to infuriate some (many? most? all?) transsexuals, who see nothing at all in common between themselves and crossdressers.  As one blogger put it:

I don’t see a link between the two. The former loves clothing and other accoutrements that are generally considered to be for women. The latter has a profound brain-body disconnect that requires treatment by hormone therapy and surgery. Crossdressers emulate women. Transsexuals change anatomical sex. How are those related?

Starting 2010

Usually, at this time of year, I am full of resolutions for the coming months, but somehow this year, I have nothing at all on that front.

Of course, I still have lots of ideas for self-improvement, and things I’d like to try, as well as new ideas for this blog.  But somehow, I just don’t feel like making resolutions.

Multiple Personality Disorder

I think it’s a fairly common thing among us t-girls to be “enthusiastic” shoppers.  We do love our clothes, and shoes, don’t we?

There are times when I find it hard to walk past a clothing store without wanting to go in and try something on.  I started to think that it was almost pathological.

One explanation that occurred to me is that I still don’t know who I am.

10 Things I Love About Having a TG Spouse

I hope you’ll indulge me one more post that relates to my October trip to Provincetown, MA.

In our never-ending search for just the right place to sit and chill, we once decided to use the Hospitality Suite during the afternoon, but our plan was thwarted by the presence of a class/seminar called 10 Things I Love About My TG Relationship.
