Travelling sometimes means that it is harder to be in the right clothes at the right time, and the other day was one such time.
Being at the door of a store full of yummy girly clothes, I just had to go in, even though I was totally in guy mode.
No matter… it seems my shame – at least in this respect – has vanished. I was picking up items here and there and posing with them in front of public mirrors, and then went so far as to get myself a dressing room and try some stuff on.
Tried on shoes too.
The sales staff never batted an eye…

Sales staff, especially in shoe stores, are amazingly cool.
2 years ago I wanted to buy my girlfriend some nice knee-high boots as a birthday present. She has very long legs, so it’s always a bit problematic to get boots which are REALLY high enough. Not to mention most are too wide at the calves.
I have about the same shoe size and similarly shaped legs, so I checked the boots by holding them at the side of my foot to check if they are high enough, and if the general size and look is somehow in the ballpark.
Female staff member shows up, gets the problem explained, and, as if this was the most natural thing on earth, says “if you have the same size, why don’t you put them on to see how they look like”.
She did this in such a natural and open way that not until I’ve left the store I though “OMG, you just walked around in boots with heels in full male mode. How embarrassing…”.
Needless to say, on that day she got a new regular customer 🙂

Amazing, isn’t it? Sometimes people surprise you – we almost expect problems but there are so many out there that are just fine with us. Who knew?

I’m telling ya……with that gorgeous hair of yours, they probably thought you were a girl in guy’s clothes to begin with. So, it was only natural then for you to try some things on. That’s what I see in the picture…

Just looked at the full size picture. So, id you try the taupe colored ankle boots behind you too? They look heavenly! 🙂

I tried on many things, but mostly, I was trying my GF’s patience. So, I took my gold shoes (and a pair of over-the-knee boots and considered myself lucky.

Well – you do stuff and post fun stuff like this – that makes me laugh and puts a different slant on t-life.
I hate shopping for female clothes in male mode. I get all thingy and feel I need to explain something. I much prefer shopping in female mode. But as you say – you can’t always chose.

I’m with you – I really don’t like doing this, but… a perfect pair of gold shoes at giveaway prices doesn’t magically appear before you every day, right?
