See You at the Summit

Preoccupied as I am at the moment with writing and books, especially about topics that mirror my own book, I picked up a copy of Jordyn Taylor’s See You at the Summit.

Good move! I absolutely devoured the book in two days and loved every minute of it.

To summarize her book in a way that perhaps she or her publicists might not, it is about a woman who can’t get out of her own way, a woman who we find struggling to accept herself as bisexual, which interferes with her ability to be with women, and then struggles to accept true love with a man because it fails to prove to everyone that she has slayed those original demons of hers.

It is frustrating to see how hard it is for her to just accept herself as she is, but it is delicious to watch her fall for this guy despite her sincerest attempts to avoid it. It is so well-written and well-conceived.

As much as I enjoyed See You at the Summit as a reader, I equally enjoyed it as a writer. I am an aspiring debut author, and to see a book like this, which has so much in common with my own, see success really encourages me. Both books are super-romantic love stories about LGBTQ+ protagonists who struggle to find their way and learn about themselves and what’s holding them back. Both are sexy and optimistic and involve incredibly sweet, sensitive but strong men.

Go read See You at the Summit. You’ll love it. And when you do (love it), be sure to think of my book, if and when it arrives. I’ll keep you posted.
